KPV Capsules are supplied as pre-measured oral capsules at 500mcg per capsule. Bottles of 60 capsules, available as 1, 3 or 5 bottles. Supplied strictly for research use only.

About KPVCapsules

KPV capsules in Canada are supplied by Horizon Peptides in 60-capsule research bottles at 500 mcg of KPV per capsule, available as a single bottle or in 3-bottle and 5-bottle packs. KPV is a tripeptide fragment of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone.

KPV takes its name from its three residues, lysine, proline and valine. It corresponds to the carboxyl-terminal fragment of alpha-MSH, with a molecular formula of C16H30N4O4 and a molecular weight of 342.43, making it one of the smallest sequences stocked.

Because the sequence is so short it is stable and simple to characterise, which is why it recurs in studies of inflammatory-pathway signalling and epithelial barrier models. Research interest rests on how a three-residue fragment retains signalling associated with its parent hormone.

The fragment also lacks the pigmentation-associated role carried by full-length alpha-MSH, so it allows one branch of the parent molecule’s described activity to be examined apart from another.

Key research areas

  • Inflammatory-pathway signalling and cytokine regulation models
  • Epithelial and intestinal barrier research
  • Melanocortin fragment comparisons against full-length alpha-MSH
  • Solid-format peptide stability research
  • Immune-signalling assays in cell culture

Research areas describe how this material appears in published laboratory work. They are not claims about any effect in people or animals.

Other KPV formats and related research material

KPV is also stocked as the KPV lyophilized vial and the KPV nasal spray. A two-peptide capsule is offered as BPC-157 and KPV capsules, and the tripeptide forms part of the Klow blend.

Research background

KPV is a tripeptide, lysine-proline-valine, that forms the last three residues of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). Its effects on fever and inflammation have been studied in cell cultures and in rabbits, mice and rats, including several models of colitis.

KPV Research What the published literature reports, with every source linked

A summary of published laboratory research. It is not a claim about any effect in people or animals.

Testing and documents

Batch documents are published on the Lab Results page as they become available, searchable by product or batch.

Lab Results

What a certificate of analysis shows

  • Identity

Mass spectrometry checks the measured molecular mass against the expected one: is this the right molecule.

  • Purity

HPLC separates a sample and reports the target as a share of everything detected.

  • Batch

A certificate describes one batch. The batch on the document should match the one you are asking about.

  • Date and analyst

The document should say who carried out the analysis and when.

Not every batch has a published document. Where one exists, it is listed; this page says nothing about results.
