About TB-500

TB-500 in Canada is supplied by Horizon Peptides as a lyophilized powder in sealed research vials, stocked in 10 mg and 20 mg sizes with single-vial, 3-vial and 10-vial pack options. TB-500 is a synthetic fragment of thymosin beta-4 studied in cell-migration research models.

TB-500 reproduces an active region of thymosin beta-4, a 43-residue protein whose principal described role is binding actin, the structural filament protein of the cytoskeleton. The fragment stocked here carries a molecular weight of 4963.5.

Working from a fragment rather than the whole protein is the usual approach in this area. Thymosin beta-4 is large enough that attributing an observation to any particular region is difficult; a defined fragment narrows the question considerably.

Actin is among the most abundant proteins in eukaryotic cells, so a sequence that binds it sits close to a great deal of cellular machinery. That breadth is both the appeal of the fragment as a research tool and the reason results from it need careful controls.

It is paired with a second sequence in the BPC-157 and TB-500 blend and its nasal spray, and forms part of both the Glow and Klow blends.

Key research areas

  • Actin binding and cytoskeletal reorganisation assays
  • Cell-migration research models
  • Protein fragment structure-activity studies
  • Angiogenic signalling research
  • Control design for broadly interacting sequences

Research areas describe how this material appears in published laboratory work. They are not claims about any effect in people or animals.

TB-500: compound data

ClassSynthetic peptide derived from thymosin beta-4, an actin-binding polypeptide

Compound data describes the molecule, not a batch. It comes from the sources listed on the TB-500 Research page.

Research background

TB-500 is a product name, and it does not always mean the same molecule. Analytical laboratories identify it as a seven-residue synthetic fragment of thymosin beta-4, one of the thymic-peptide-research"thymic peptides, and at least one recent paper uses the name for synthetic thymosin beta-4 itself.

Testing and documents

Batch documents are published on the Lab Results page as they become available, searchable by product or batch.

Lab Results

What a certificate of analysis shows

  • Identity

Mass spectrometry checks the measured molecular mass against the expected one: is this the right molecule.

  • Purity

HPLC separates a sample and reports the target as a share of everything detected.

  • Batch

A certificate describes one batch. The batch on the document should match the one you are asking about.

  • Date and analyst

The document should say who carried out the analysis and when.

Not every batch has a published document. Where one exists, it is listed; this page says nothing about results.

Shipping and handling

  • Dispatch

Orders placed before 2:00 PM ET, Monday to Friday, typically ship the same business day.

  • Shipping

Express shipping is free on orders over $300 before tax. Other options and their prices are shown at checkout.

  • Delivery

We ship to addresses within Canada. A tracking link is emailed when the order ships.

  • Storage

Keep lyophilized material sealed, dry and away from light, in a cool place or refrigerated. Let a cold vial reach room temperature before opening so moisture does not condense inside it.

Which protein does the fragment come from?

Thymosin beta-4, a 43-residue actin-binding protein.

Why work with a fragment instead of the whole protein?

A defined fragment makes it far easier to attribute an observation to a specific region of the sequence.

When does an order ship?

Orders ship from within Canada, Monday to Friday. Orders placed before 2:00 PM ET typically ship the same business day, and a tracking link is emailed when the order ships. See the shipping policy.

Can an order be returned?

All sales are final. If an item arrives damaged or defective, contact us within 72 hours of delivery with your order number and photos. See the return policy.

What is this product supplied for?

Laboratory research use only. It is not for human or veterinary consumption and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. The purchaser is responsible for handling it in line with applicable laws and laboratory safety practice.
